Startyparty News for Raycast

This is an extension I made to quickly display the aggregated tech focused news. Startyparty News for Raycast displays news articles from startyparty.dev. Covers tech, web dev, data science, engineering, science and web design. It's updated every five or so minutes.

Night Light

Night Light Manage Night Shift System Settings. Requires nightlight to be installed.

The "Night Shift" feature on macOS is a convenient, built-in feature that can theoretically accomplish most of what third-party alternatives (like f.lux®) are capable of. However, as of now, there is no way to programmatically configure Night Shift (without entering the system preferences GUI), making its current usage more limited.

Obsidian for Raycast

Obsidian for Raycast is a raycast extension with commands for the note taking and knowledge management app Obsidian. It allows you to open and search notes, create new notes, and manage your vault.

Prettier Code

It takes the code from the Clipboard. Formats it with prettier and pastes it in the cursor position.

Use cases:

Format code to paste into wikis, forums, message apps, etc.
Share snippets of code to Blogging sites such as dev.to, Ghost or Hashnode
Save it for future reference in Notion or Obsidian

This one is super useful when copying unformatted code from somewhere and you want to dump it somewhere and actually read it. I use this particularly for JSON usually.

Random Data Generator

Generate random data using Faker library. Suggested by: rickysullivan.

Remove Background - Powered by Mac

Remove background from image with the Mac Vision API. Super useful for removing backgrounds from screenshots or images extremely quickly. Works with images from the clipboard.

Remove Paywall

Remove Paywall Remove the paywall from the selected or clipboard URL. It can be taken from the currently selected text or if none provided from the clipboard.

Uses:

ScreenOCR

ScreenOCR allows you to quickly and easily extract text from screen captures via OCR, perfect for extracting text from any on-screen content. All processing is done locally on device via Apple's VisionKit ML API.

Note: This extension requires Screen Recording permission to work (it's the only way to capture screenshots)

I use this one quite often to quickly extract text from screenshots of websites or emails or images. It's also helpful decichering hard to read text.

Transmit

Transmit Displays a list of servers bookmarked in Transmit for quick connecting.

Tailwind CSS

Tailwind CSS Utilities to work with Tailwind CSS in your projects. Really useful for quickly generating classes and applying them to your HTML; can search classes, properties, and values; useful for when you know the CSS you need but can't recall the class name off the top of your head.

UploadThing

List Files: A view that shows a paginated list of files a user can then open in browser
Upload Files: An interactive upload form where the user first selects the files they wanna upload, then uploads in batch
Upload from Clipboard: Reads the users clipboard and uploads the latest files from it

In order to use this extension, you need to have an account on UploadThing and an API key. You can get one by signing up here, then going to the API Keys tab in your dashboard.

I use this to quickly upload a file online to share with others. Similar to how people use CloudApp or Dropbox to upload and share files.
